Adam Gilchrist vomits "horse crap"

Adam Gilchrist was a fine cricketer.

A cricketer for whom I had a lot of respect. But by showing his 'true colors' lately he is fast becoming a bit of a moronic asswipe.

First he had a dig at Sachin, but then he forgot that Indians are cricket crazy and his book would probably sell well there. So he sorted that out in quick time.

Now he's come out and labeled Murali a chucker. And apparently the ICC bent their laws so that Murali could bowl in international cricket.

The law was changed because half the people bowling in international cricket violated the existing law at the time. Under that law, Mcgrath, Pollock etc all chucked.

Maybe Gilchrist dint pass his science test in school or maybe he wasn't too good with the maths to go too deeply into such matters to understand what exactly happened.

Gilchrist goes on to say that Murali was protected by "Political influence". Maybe he dint even pass his geography cuz mate we are not India. We are whole separate country. With our own flag and everything.

There was NO political influence. The ICC launched an investigation and Murali was tested in AUSTRALIA and they them selves cleared him. In fact it was the Uni of WA who cleared him. Maybe some resentment from Gilly not getting a certain acceptance letter.

If anyone at all cares, the law of the 10 degree limit was extended to 15 degree because it is only at this threshold that the human eye can actually detect any flex in the arm.

But to me the final straw is him stating that allowing Murali to bowl was against "the spirit of the game".

For someone who 'seemed' to uphold this very same spirit during his playing days it is amazing how quickly he seems to have forgotten it after he stopped.

I wonder who he is going to attack next.

I'm quite surprised that gilchrist has come out with such statements against these guys. Wats rong with him?

Just goes to show that he portrayed the image of being a selfless guy and a goody 2 shoes and kept all these criticisms inside him while he was playing.

G> A pakistani might be next ..Lets wait and see.

Adam is trying very hard to destroy the good image he had when he played.

I'd say hes succeeded so far in my book

Annon> Hit hard ? :) Sure.

I guess you are also someone who lets the facts get in the way of a good story.

Did you and Adam go to the same school ?

dats so true.
i like dat name.
murali's a disgrace to cricket.
If he can't bowl properly because of his natural disorder, aint dat his problem. He should stay home and play cricket on a PS3. But due to politics, he is still there.
Will they allow someone to bowl from eleven yards because he has some problem and cant throw the ball 22 yards.

And yeah warne aint my fav cricketer. But at least all his wickets are legtimate. I am not against srilanka. Mendis is one of my fav cricketer. I am against throwing javelins on the pitch.I myself cant bowl with a straight arm. And i did take wickets by truckloads. But i stopped bowling once my mates told me i chuck. It is just immorral. But why would you listen to dat. Murali was a chucker,is a chucker and will be counted as a chucker when he retires, though.

My view on Murali the ..... bowler...And how many wkts Has he got in Australia ? Any good figures ? And then how many in BD ?

Do you guys have any answer on why Murali has more cheap wkts (BD and Zim) than any other bowler ?

November 5, 2008 at 11:30 PM
Blogger Q said...

Buzzz had Australia played against BD and ZImbabwe as much as Sri Lanka did, Im sure Warne would also have had buckets full of wickets... but we all know Australia like to pick and choose their opponents based on how much money they can make.

buzz > why did we play BD and Zim so much ? cuz the powers that be never gave us test matches.

specially england till recent years. wi never gave us matches. unless we invited them over.

only in the last decade or so has this improved.

we dont even get to play on the bigger grounds in aus when we tour. we get sent to hobart or darwin.

so we played who we got. is that SLs or Muralis fault ? Murali's record is better than Warnes in against every country. home and away.

murali only played against aus in aus in a handful of tests. he had so much to deal with there other than the cricket. yet he did the best he could.

he always conceeded that it was the aussies who played him the best as a team.

i believe 'g' gave u the simpler answer to your question.

cheers.

I for one can not fathom greatness for bowlers with extra ordinary actions..

They dont get wickets for their outstanding ability, but probably because of their deformity and the confusion their action causes to batsmen.

Murali, then that 2 cent pakistani sohail tanveer and now mendis.. these should be banned from bowling IMHO

Buzzz, your argument is purely one sided.
Yes, Murali has got a loads of wickets against Zim and Ban. But if you bother, compare his record with Warne's excluding the games against those two countries. You will see that it is still better than Warne's. And how many wickets has Warne taken against those shit batsmen in England - they must be the worst against spin. If Murali bowl at them as much as Warne did, he would have gotten 1000 already!

I found them here for you:
Murali's record excluding Zim and Ban:
http://stats.cricinfo.com/statsguru/engine/player/49636.html?class=1;opposition=1;opposition=2;opposition=3;opposition=4;opposition=5;opposition=6;opposition=7;template=results;type=bowling

Warne's:
http://stats.cricinfo.com/statsguru/engine/player/8166.html?class=1;opposition=1;opposition=140;opposition=3;opposition=4;opposition=5;opposition=6;opposition=7;opposition=8;template=results;type=bowling

You can see for yourself. Murali has more wickets per match with a better average and econ than Warne.
Now eat your shit!

And about in Australia, he played only two serieses in Aussie. And everytime he had to endure a lot of crap more than cricket. If you have ever played some sort of sport you know that how hard it is when things like that happen. Let me give you a little insight. Remember when there were claims in NZ that Tait was throwing? And remember how he said how frustrating and hard it was for him that? Some Aussie team mates also said the same. Now imagine having to endure that same crap - only thousand times exaggerated, for fourteen years or so!

I have my utmost respect for him simply for that fact. He was able to endure all that and still be on top of the world for so long!
Great man Murali!

@sanchitha.
omg, r u blind or sumthing??
even geoff boycotts grandmother can see that murali chucks. And the tests have officially proved that it is due to deformity in his arm. Now, its not my fault or ,for that matter, anybody's fault that he has a deformity. Its his freaking own problem. If it gives him an unfair advantage, aint that wrong. If you can straight your arm, stay home or watch the game from stands. there is no place for him on the field

November 6, 2008 at 8:19 AM
Blogger Sach said...

Yad, Are YOU blind?
Mate, check your facts - not what you hear or say. Just because he 'looks' throwing, doesn't mean he is.

OK, he was bending his arm more than the then allowed limit, but so were the others. They found out that most of the bowlers including the likes of McGrath and Pollock who were never suspected of throwing were exceeding the limit. So is it OK if they exceed the limit, only Murali has to go 'cos he 'looks' like throwing?

You're just talking crap man, talk sense for a change.

dhuvraj> on this premise we should ban harbajan, cuz clearly he chucks too. as well as nippin mohnish parwar in the bud too. - why is he still allowed to play first class cricket

your comment on mendis laughable. its not his action that got him wickets against india, which is squeaky clean, its indians complete ineptness at playing him.

sorry but i guess those record breaking wounds still havent healed for you.

yad> you seem to be another who clearly have no clue as to what he was tested for or what has happened.

is it too hard for you to wrap your head around that fact.

@sanchitha
you know what u should do??
take an angle finder and stick it up to every bowler's arm and display it after every ball on screen. How do you know if the angle is 14.9 or 15.1 degrees. You give a decsion based on what you see in the field.
btw. Can you tell me when was the law changed? how abt taking away all the wickets murali took before that. coz u urself said he used to chuck before the law was changed. now see where he stands after that. Its a disgrace seeing a cheat's name among all the greats in leading wicket takers. As for facts did any umpire ever called mcgrath or pollock for chucking. That means they never chucked.

hv u ever heard abt that.
why not let people with mechanical legs run alongside the sprinters.

maybe u nvr heard abt em.

Yad, you never seems to get the facts man. Open you eyes.

I don't say McGrath or Pollock chucked. I don't know if this is news for you. But ICC conducted a survey during the 2004 ICC Champion's Trophy. Yes, during matches and they measured all the bowlers participated. And found out that Sarwan was the only - yes ONLY - bowler who didn't exceed the then limit.
So according to your theory, shouldn't the wickets off ALL the bowlers be taken away that were before that rule change?
Please answer me subjectively.

Or you say that just because a nut case like Hair called Murali, he chucks and because McGrath wasn't called he didn't?
Oh man, gimme a break...

November 6, 2008 at 9:16 AM
Blogger Yad said...

Just because sum un calls murali a chucker he aint a nut case.
fuck the technology. I beleive what i see with my eyes. And so does everyone else. Just tell me one thing how the hell is an umpire gonna measure an angle on field. And dont even get me started on facts.
Before the rule was changed in 2004, Muralitharan had bowled with an armflex of 10.2 degrees - up from the then legal limit of five.
Now, mcgrath may have bowled one or 2 degrees over the limits but this was .2degrees more than double the limit. Thats daylight robbery in my eyes. also,Muralitharan was found to have delivered his doosra - which turns from leg to off but with an off-spinner's action - with an arm-flex of 14 degrees. Sounds easy math, but let me do it for you .....
almost 3 times the limit.
u only play with whatever rules are in place at that time.
why cant ur brain figure that??

and for the source, here it is

How do they fine people for speed limits??
doing a 60 on 50 aint same as doing 140 on 50. aint it.
for the first one they dock one point.
for the second they cancel ur license on the spot.
got my point

November 6, 2008 at 9:41 AM
Blogger Sach said...

No, there is no point to get.
It's foolish if we do that on a cricket field. Besides, how were the earlier rules were decided? They were not decided after a carefull technical surver. I'm sure somebody just put down the figures and everybody agreed.
So there is nothing as such to say that those earlier limits were correct and we must stick to them.

So according to you, we will need to have a banning system in place. If somebody exceeds 5, but not 6 then he will be warend. If 6 but not 7.5, we will stop him from bowling for this innings. If exceeds 7.5, for three months. And so on...
Isn't it what is gonna happen?
LOL... you're turning yourself into a laughing stock.. Hahahaa!

November 6, 2008 at 9:46 AM
Blogger Yad said...

u know what mate?
amongst all the rubbish u were talking i liked ur idea of the banning system.
just puts everything into place.
and yea a life ban for bowling at 14 degrees which a certain player did.
its not me who is makin himself into laughing stock. its just that you cant see beyond ur small perspective.

Sachintha, don't waste your time I say! How ever much these people cry foul Murali's ever climbing tally will be here to stay! FACT!! His only obstacle in reaching 1,000 wickets is Mendis who is lapping up wickets like no tomorrow, all be it its against India so far. Maybe when he reaches 500+ wickets people will argue that he got cheap wickets against the Indians :)
